Given his penchant for all things technical, we asked the designer to break down a few of the gnarliest, only - possible - in - a - Moncler factory Moncler Jacket details from the new collection.
This was applied with the collaboration of a slew of contemporary Los Angeles-based creatives, including Libertine (prints), Undefeated (nylons), Balt Getty (prints and bags), and AD.III (jewelry). Although so rooted in the last century, this collection looked - flared pants apart - convincingly contemporary and grounded in the reality of a creative and thrift - sifting dress sense.
Crafted in precious Longue Saison nylon, this style showcases a metallic cotton hood and a faux shearling fur lining. The design is completed by the brand's signature performance details and a grosgrain trim with Moncler lettering on the inside of the closure.
The success of the model has inspired other companies across the industry to attempt a similar strategy, so Moncler is under pressure to deliver something new and novel each year.
Shod in '70s - style sneakers, the collection descended to sea - level - Life's a Beach-bright florals, abstracted leis of nylon blossom - through a brand - essential basecamp of mid - weight down jackets with nehru collars in pungently powerful colorways.
But we mustn't forget that while the jacket does now "live in the city" it was actually "born in the mountains". This iconic piece was (and still is) the top choice of world - renowned athletes and explorers and can withstand the harshest of elements.
